Lyceum of the Holy Sophia
Lady Olivia Robertson of Clonegal Castle, Enniscorthy, Ireland and Fellowship of Isis, inspired the creation of the Lyceum of the Holy Sophia. In 1998 Lady Olivia, ordained Elizabeth Kelley a Hierophant of the Holy Sophia and certified Elizabeth through the College of Isis to begin a Lyceum. While at Clonegal Castle, Olivia and Elizabeth recorded several lectures and channeled audio-tapes on Sophia. Prior to Elizabeth’s ordination as a Hierophant, in 1990, she was ordained a Priestess of Isis dedicated to Mary Magdalene and in 1994 she was ordained as a Priest in the Holy Order of Mary Magdalene by Tau Rosamonde.
The Lyceum of the Holy Sophia is a movable gathering place where lectures, meetings, rituals, concerts, dance, and entertainment events take place. The purpose to gather has a Lyceum is to create a safe container to more easily invoke divine grace, guidance and the igniting of sacred inspiration.
Each member the Lyceum, chooses to enter into their own inner sanctum, following their guidance to usher forth their unique talent and gifts. All members are encouraged to follow their inner calling.
The liturgy of the Lyceum of the Holy Sophia incorporates writings from the Gnostic Gospels, ancient literature, sacred texts, astrology and the teachings of several New Thought teachers. Individual members are encouraged towards self-study, research, travel and an artistic expression such has poetry, dance, music, song and painting.
After a period of time, along with a sincere intent, an individual may choose ordination as a Priestess within the Lyceum of the Holy Sophia. A spiritual biography must be written informing the Hierophant of their reason to become ordained a Priestess or Priest. They need to identify what they are able to offer – three Goddesses, Saints, Spiritual Tradition or Spiritual Master, which they choose to serve.
After a candidate is accepted for ordination, they create their own Crown, Shawl and Staff to be blessed and empowered during their ordination. They also prepare to offer spoken words along with their unique gift to those who have gathered to witness the ordination rite.
